Originally I worked as an actor, doing a lot of issue based drama in schools and prisons. This led me to take an interest in Dramatherapy and I decided to do my training at Derby University in 2008, graduating with a MA in 2011. Initially I worked in the NHS in adult mental health but then specialised in work with children and teenagers for many years, particularly working with trauma and attachment. The majority of my post qualification training has been around the effects of developmental trauma and how to support people recovering from traumatic events. I have however also worked with children with a wide range of issues, from autism to anxiety to suicidal thoughts. In the past year I have returned to work with adults alongside the work with children. The adults I see are often struggling with relationship issues, PTSD, stress and anxiety.I was born in Cumbria and although moved away for many years have returned permanently because I love it here. I live in North Cumbria and can be flexible about where I practice.
